Our Founder’s Story
In 2015, Rider Guider founder Lisa welcomed her first child via cesarean. During recovery, she moved her horse to a full livery yard for support. While enjoying the luxury of an indoor arena, Lisa quickly realised she was simply riding around in circles without a structured exercise or training plan.
Although the livery yard offered experienced trainers, they were costly and not always available when she needed them. Seeking alternative inspiration, she turned to online training videos – but discovered you can’t watch YouTube while riding your horse.
That’s when the idea for Rider Guider was born.
Turning an Idea into Reality
In 2018, Lisa met her trainer, Debs, and a strong friendship blossomed. Regular lessons with Debs boosted Lisa’s skills, but whenever she trained alone, she found herself wishing Debs was there in her ear, giving tips and guidance during each ride.
Together, they began developing the Rider Guider App – combining Lisa’s skills in digital marketing and web design with Debs’ expertise as a qualified riding instructor. Their shared vision was simple: to help riders train smarter, build confidence, and make the most out of every session with their horse.
